Today we talked with Terri Schenzel from the Hope Center for Kids in North Omaha. It was a fascinating discussion on the history of hope for the kids they serve! Terri’s husband, Pastor Tye Schenzel began the ministry 12 years ago after being feeling the nudge from God. Terri is a very energetic witness to the grace of God through this ministry! Hey that was a great interview with fellow CBWF member Betty Jo Marples! Her book, “Hey Girl You Can Do It” is blessing me as I read as well. Betty Jo discovered Titus 2 with a big Ah Ha to move forward with a ministry exhorting women in the Word and life. Betty Jo has been married to Dale for nearly 54 years and has raised 2 daughters and now has 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren – and she’s not a day over 50 years old! (by looks it, that is!)

We had a treat with our broadcast this week! Dr Viv Ewing came by to share about her new book “You can have your cake and eat it too!”. It is a motivational book about life and getting the success you were born to have. The book is also testimonal of Viv’s life as a VERY motivated, determined young woman to beat the odds and go for the educational markers she had for herself – regardless of the challenges she faced. Plus, you simply MUST read her chapter called ‘Swish, Swish, Swish’ – you will laugh, you will think and you will recognize your own trials and how to achieve the best results in this area, too! June 2nd Broadcast
We had a great gal in for discussion on June 2nd! Debbie Blank from Living Word Ministries! Debbie gave us an overview of the things she does in ministry before we went into a taped teaching on “Leaving a Legacy”. Debbie is a woman of God who LOVES the WORD! You should have seen her face as she talked about the study of the Word of God and how it opens the door to knowing Jesus Christ more fully and personally. Especially the word of prophecy – meaning the things to come on the horizon that the Word teaches us in advance to look forward to.
Living Word Ministry is a teaching ministry where Debbie has live bible studies, books and tours of the Holy land. She will be at Westside Church on Monday evenings starting June 14th from 7 – 8:30. Everyone is invited for all or any of the classes and if you’d like a book it’s just $20. Otherwise just come and take notes and be blessed! Enter from the East side of Westside –

May 26th Broadcast
Hi there, did you listen in yesterday to CBWF Business Showcase? The interview between myself, Jackie Mahr, and Linda Brown of Linda Brown and Associates was a lot of fun! Linda shares stories about how God has and is still leading her in her spiritual walk as well as her business direction. She lived in Chicago and needed to move to Omaha to be with her parents at a critical time and … well, tune in to hear her story!
Also, we had good discussion on CBWF and what the ministry has meant to Linda as she went through the trials of life in a new invironment, not knowing very many people in Omaha. Connecting with CBWF Forums really gave her the foundation to build from both personally and professionally.
Oh, and Linda even received a voice mail before the broadcast was even finished – PTL!! (Does radio work – or what?!)

We talked today with Karen Snow of CFO Systems, LLC. CFO Systems is a group of accountants that have pooled their experiences and talents into a group that can offer a wide variety of financial services on an interim or time share basis. Many times a company needs some financial leadership but does not need a full time Chief Financial Officer or Controller. These ‘time share’ engagements can be short term or can last several months or years. CFO Systems can also provide financial leadership on an interim basis during busy times, for complicated projects, or during times when a Company is trying to fill a full time position.
Karen and I discussed the importance of knowing how to read and understand a financial statement. It is critical in today’s economic environment (and always) to know the financial health of your company. Like with our physical health, we can’t tell if we are hitting or missing goals if we aren’t taking measurements and making corrections when necessary. Rest assured, we also decided amongst ourselves that some people have a gift for numbers and some don’t and that’s OK.
Karen has been studying the book, “If You Want to Walk on Water, You Have to Get Out of the Boat” by John Ortberg. We talked about taking risks and moving out of our comfort zones, or out of the boat. When we make these changes, whether personal, professional, or on our faith walk, we need to focus on Jesus, reach for Him and strive to follow His example.

This show went pretty well – after many edits! I think we had just tooo much fun in the studio this week!
The first segment with Becki Jelinek went beautifully – because she is a beautiful pro at her own show – Family Spectrum Radio heard DAILY right here on AM 660 KCRO! Becki shared her vision with us about being a resource for moms and founding a perfect venue to get her word out – Family Spectrum Magazine. Then she simply went forward and caught the vision of radio as a natural expansion to what she was already doing – a perfect fit! She brings so many great guests into the studio and I get to meet them many times while they wait in the ‘green room’ to be interviewed! Then we had the tough stuff! Brenda Banks was our interviewer for me, Jackie Mahr, to be on the other side of the microphone! That was tough! I like asking the questions! But she grilled me good – with much laughter and editing – we made it through. She helped me think back to the day I began in radio – by praying the Prayer of Jabez – II Chronicles 4:10 -” Oh, that you would bless me indeed, enlarge my territory, that your hand would be with me and that you would keep me from evil that I may not cause pain. So God granted him what he requested” And he has!
It was a also good to talk about bringing on to our airwaves the people, churches or businesses who would like to advertise to a GREAT audience of Christian people. I told her how much I enjoy being an Account Representative for Salem Radio – representing my clients to our listeners and looking out for both their best interest.
